At the beginning of her first term, Governor Kathleen Sebelius began a top to bottom
review of the way state government does business. To date, these BEST efforts have
eliminated $1 billion in wasteful spending and inefficiencies.
Selling off hundreds of unneeded state vehicles; consolidating the purchasing power
of different levels of government; and collecting millions in delinquent taxes are just
some of the ways we’ve made state government more efficient and more affordable.
But our work is not yet done!
As technology improves and new opportunities present themselves, we’ll continue
to look for ways to do more with less.
Current efforts include a state-wide initiative to make government more energy efficient
- because wasted energy is wasted money.
We’re also looking at state buildings and finding ways to increase productivity
through better technology.
To spread these successes throughout the state, we’re teaming with local governments
and school districts to combine their purchasing power and get better deals on the
things they need.
To continue achieving these great results, we need to hear from you!
The money saving ideas you use in your home or at work might be exactly what we’re
looking for.
Together, we can make state government work BEST for you!
