EXECUTIVE ORDER 07-06

WHEREAS, there exists a state of emergency in the State of Kansas, specifically Kiowa County, due to recent tornados throughout the area; and

WHEREAS, this severe natural disaster has resulted in extensive human suffering and economic damage; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to expedite restoration of services and relief in the affected area and the State of Kansas wishes to accommodate the need to provide assistance to the citizens by allowing them emergency access to banking services.

NOW, THEREFORE, pursuant to the authority vested in me as Governor of the State of Kansas, I hereby authorize the State Bank Commissioner to take whatever steps are necessary to facilitate access to banking services for the citizens of Kiowa County, Kansas affected by the recent tornados, including but not limited to streamlining of branch relocation procedures and waiver of publication requirements concerning such applications.
