Q: When does the Governor's term expire?
A: Governor Sebelius' term expires in January 2011.


Q: How do I register to vote?
A: Applications to register to vote are available with your county election officer or can be found online at the Secretary of State's Web site at www.kssos.org. Simply fill out the application and mail it to your county. Your county election officer will mail you a notice when your application has been processed.


Q: How can I become a Notary Public?

A: The names and addresses of your legislators can be obtained through the office of your local county clerk or through the online Kansas Legislator Directory. Names and contact information are also available at the Kansas Legislative Services Web site: www.kslegislature.org

A: The Governor's Constituent Services office can be reached at 1-800-748-4408.


Q: How do I register a company name?
A: You can reserve a company name, or reserve a business online at the KS Business Center. You may also contact the Secretary of State's office at 785-296-4564, or visit the Secretary of State's Web site at www.kssos.org

Q: How can I get a copy of my birth certificate?
A: Information regarding birth certificates is available through the office of Vital Statistics. Call 785-296-1400 for information or visit the Vital Statistics Web site at www.kdheks.gov/vital/


Q: Who should I call about a consumer complaint?
A: The Attorney General's Office provides a toll-free consumer protection line. The number is 1-800-432-2310. You can also fill out a complaint online and mail it in from the Attorney General's web site: www.ksag.org/Divisions/Consumer/main.htm


Q: How can I apply to be appointed to a state board or commission?

A: Governor Sebelius is looking for the most talented people possible to fill every position in State government.  If you would like to apply, please fill out our standard Appointment Questionnaire (Word format) and either E-mail the completed form to us at appointments@ks.gov or mail it to us at: Appointments Office, Room 226-S, Statehouse, Topeka, Kansas 66612.

A: As the state's Chief Executive, the governor represents all the people and is responsible for safeguarding the public interest. The governor is responsible for establishing goals for the state and to provide state government and the people with leadership, direction and vision.
