Edward J. Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)
Purpose
The purpose of the JAG grant program is to assist state and local units of government and tribes in supporting a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on state and local needs and conditions. JAG funds are used for the following purpose areas: (1) law enforcement programs; (2) prosecution and court programs; (3) prevention and education programs; (4) corrections and community corrections programs; (5) drug treatment programs; (6) planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs; (7) crime victim and witness programs. The grant program is administered by the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council.
State Children's Advocacy Centers Grant Program
Purpose
To initiate, enhance or expand grant projects that establish comprehensive Children's Advocacy Centers (CACs). CACs are child-focused, community-oriented programs that coordinate investigation and intervention services for abused children by bringing together professionals and agencies in a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary model.
