Every crime victim deserves to receive the best possible service and to be provided with information about the crime committed against him or her. No matter where crime takes place, qualified and trained people should be available to assist victims and their families. Every advocate should have a basic understanding of the laws, services and resources available to help victims of crime.
We want to thank the advisory committee for its expertise and support for this training and the subcommittee that helped in compiling materials and the agenda for the training. The advisory committee was made up of representatives from prosecutor based victim/witness programs, parents of murdered children & other survivors, police based victim advocates, child advocacy centers, department of corrections victim services, domestic violence and sexual assault program staff and state coalition, hospital based advocacy, MADD, state compensation program, and multi-cultural victim assistance advocates. Also, many thanks to the instructors who provide the training on the skills needed to help victims of crime in Kansas
