(JAG) |
| Purpose |
The purpose of the JAG grant program is to assist state
and local units of government and tribes in supporting a broad range of activities to prevent
and control crime based on state and local needs and conditions. JAG funds are used for the
following purpose areas: (1) law enforcement programs; (2) prosecution and court programs; (3)
prevention and education programs; (4) corrections and community corrections programs; (5) drug
treatment programs; (6) planning, evaluation and technology improvement programs. The grant
program is administered by the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council. |

This year Kansas received a 67 percent cut in JAG funding. At this time, the Kansas Criminal Justice Coordinating Council is not soliciting new grant applications for SFY 2009.
