Governor appoints two to Kansas Essential Governor Kathleen Sebelius has appointed Charles D. Lybarger and Larry Triplett to the Kansas Essential Fuel Supply Trust Fund Compensation Advisory Board. “For the safety of Kansans, and for the health of the environment, it is important that operators of aboveground storage tanks prevent fuel spills,” Sebelius said. “Having resources available to assist these operators in complying with safety measures will help in preventing and responding to accidents.” The Kansas Essential Fuel Supply Trust Fund provides financial resources to Kansas aboveground tank owners and bulk plant owners to assist them in complying with federal spill prevention control and countermeasure regulations. The Trust Fund may provide reimbursements of up to 90 percent of the costs associated with compliance, up to a maximum of $25,000 per facility. The Kansas Essential Fuel Supply Trust Fund Compensation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the Secretary of Revenue regarding disputes over the disbursement of funds from the trust fund. Lybarger, Garnett, retired in 2001 after a 46-year career in the oil industry. Active in his community, Lybarger is a member of the Garnett Lions Club, Garnett Methodist Church, the Anderson County Historical Society Board of Directors and the Anderson County Hospital Board of Directors. He’s also a volunteer with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Anderson County. Triplett, Salina, has 43 years of experience in wholesale and retail motor fuels business as a manager, owner and operator Both appointees will serve a three-year term. # # # |
