Sebelius’ cabinet members meet with officials impacted by flooding
Group to meet with residents, local officials throughout the day

Members of Governor Kathleen Sebelius’ cabinet will travel Monday to areas in Southeast Kansas recently hit by flooding. Working closely with area legislators from the House and the Senate, the trip was seen as a step to make sure that the recovery effort was coordinated throughout state agencies.

“Mother Nature has been hard on Kansas this year,” Sebelius said. “Were it not for the incredible dedication of our first responders and emergency management officials, the work of our public servants at all levels and most of all the resiliency of the people in these communities, we would be in far worse shape.”

Labor Secretary Jim Garner, Wildlife and Parks Secretary Mike Hayden, Commerce Secretary David Kerr, Transportation Secretary Deb Miller, Agriculture Secretary Adrian Polansky, Revenue Secretary Joan Wagnon, Kansas Development Finance Authority President Steve Weatherford, and Special Assistant to the Governor, John Polzar will meet with residents and local officials.
